thinkSMALL Foundation is a registered Thai foundation. Since 2007, thinkSMALL teams have exposed over 239,000 children in 8 nations to fun outreaches that help children stand together to resist trafficking, abuse and drugs.
thinkSMALL partners with local teams through a proven 3-Step process:
1. Entertainment Shows
Children make life decisions from their hearts (first) and their heads (second).
2. Education (ongoing)
After the shows, children enter a 1-year fun curriculum!
3. Empowerment
Children are trained how to be leaders of other children through our children’s leadership strategies!
Recently thinkSMALL Chiang Mai trained several schools in northern Thailand on Drug Prevention. There were 654 students who attended.
A certain amount of risk-taking is a normal part of adolescent development. The desire to try new things and become more independent is healthy, but it may also increase teens’ tendencies to experiment with drugs. The parts of the brain that control judgment and decision-making do not fully develop until people are in their early or mid-20s; this limits a teen’s ability to accurately assess the risks of drug experimentation and makes young people more vulnerable to peer pressure.
